LEDBETTER MAN ARRESTED FOR BURTON BURGLARY

  

A Ledbetter man who allegedly burglarized a home in Burton has been arrested after an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

50-year-old Ronnie Lee Mathis is charged with burglary of a building.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, deputies responded to a burglary on April 6th in the 7200 block of Bredthauer Road in Burton.

The victim told deputies that someone had cut the padlocks on his storage buildings and stolen yard equipment. He gave deputies the name of a person he believed committed the burglary.

During the course of the investigation, the equipment was located at a pawn shop in Bryan by CID Lt. Mark Whidden. An arrest warrant was then issued for Mathis.

He was arrested by Deputy Yolanda Marshall without incident on April 20th in Lee County and was taken to the Washington County Jail.

Mathis is currently out on a $15,000 bond.
