LEIGHTON SCHUBERT HOSTING MEETING FOR RETIRED TEACHERS

  

State Representative Leighton Schubert from Caldwell will be hosting a meeting for retired teachers across House District 13 later this month.

Schubert and Merita Zoga, Director of Governmental Relations for the Teachers Retirement System of Texas, will host a meeting for retired teachers in LaGrange on Tuesday, October 24th.  They will discuss recent legislative action that directly impacts the healthcare plan options for retired teachers.  Schubert says, “The Texas Legislature has made significant changes to TRS-Care, which can result in a lot of misinformation.  Retired teachers deserve the opportunity to engage directly with TRS to gain a clear understanding of their health plan options, and I thought that bringing TRS out to District 13 was the best way to do it.

The meeting will be Tuesday, October 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 1215 North Von Minden Road in LaGrange.  District 13 includes Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lavaca and Washington counties.
