LEIGHTON SCHUBERT WINS OVER CAROLYN BILSKI FOR DISTRICT 13 REPRESENTATIVE SEAT

The election season ended on Tuesday night with Leighton Schubert winning the State Representative District 13 Seat against opponent Carolyn Bilski.

Schubert had 1174 more people cast ballots in the runoff election than in the first January 16th election.

Schubert almost doubled his votes, from 3,259 on January 16th to 6,350 Tuesday night. He added 3,091 votes to his total.

When contacted Tuesday evening, Leighton Schubert had this to say about his win.

Bilski added only 444 votes to her January 16th election total.

When contacted by KWHI to get a reaction, Caroline Bilski’s comments were short and to the point, congratulated Schubert and wished him luck in Austin.

Schubert won the five most populated counties of Washington, Austin, Fayette, Burleson and Grimes Counties.

Schubert won in Washington County with over 800 votes more than Bilski, with 1,901 for Schubert and 1,089 for Bilski.

Schubert narrowly edged Bilski in her home county of Austin County, with the total of Schubert 1,575 to Bilski’s 1547.

In Burleson County, Schubert won handily over Bilski, with Schubert 1181 to Bilski’s 72.

Bilski won Colorado and Lavaca Counties.

Schubert succeeds Lois Kolkhorst, who won her special election for state senator in December.

  1. Remember to keep close watch on new legislation for taking water from land water marketing companies don’t own. You will know who your state representatives are working for then

  2. Please air contributors list for candidates for all elections, this is very helpful to see where the real influence of our elected officials lies. The expression “show me the money” is never more important.
