Schubert brought in 54,969 votes total, winning against his Democrat challenger Cecil Webster who brought in 14,934 votes.

Schubert thanked citizens of Washington County for coming out to vote during the General Election:

Schubert’s victory is his second successful election in less than two years. He was first elected in 2015 in a special election held two months after the legislature had convened.

Schubert says he returns to a Texas House with a Republican majority poised to take on issues such as public school education, higher education, transportation infrastructure and others.

The 85th Legislative Session convenes in January 2017 and meets for 140 days.
