LIGHT AGENDA FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING

A light agenda for Washington County Commissioners this (Tuesday) morning. Commissioners heard a report for the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau covering tourism and advertising during the April through June period. Lu Hollander from the chamber explained the coverage the county had received in major publications noting that Texas Highways magazine did a 10 page feature on Washington County in their April edition. Chamber President Page Michel noted that Blue Bell Creameries had 70,000 visitors since January. Blue Bell’s observation deck of their production area reopened in June.

Commissioners accepted a re-plat of the Crosswinds Estates subdivision off of Highway 36 North. They also accepted Carey Drive in that subdivision into the counties one year maintenance program.  A number of reports were tabled due to the switchover to new financial software.  The District Clerk, County Clerk, Justices of the Peace and Auditors reports were tabled and will be presented at a later meeting.
