LINEUP FOR ‘HOT NIGHTS/COOL TUNES’ FEATURES FAMILIAR FACES
The 2018 band lineup for Downtown Brenham’s “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concert series have been announced.
The “Brown Sugar Band” returns to kick off the popular summertime concert series on Saturday, July 7th on the courthouse square in Brenham. “Brown Sugar Band” entertains with a blend of Motown, R&B, old school rock ‘n roll and today’s hits that has the crowd dancing in the street. They are sponsored this year by Hermann Furniture Company, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative, South Texas Tack, and Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union.
The second weekend of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes”, Saturday July 14th, will feature the popular Austin band “Suede”. Appearing for the 10th year in a row, Suede plays music from the 70’s through today, and has always been a crowd favorite. Suede is sponsored by J & A Roofing, Altman Dentistry, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing, and Citizens State Bank.
On Saturday night, July 21st, “The Fab Five” return to Downtown Brenham after last year’s show was rained out. “The Fab Five” were voted Best Cover/Tribute Band by the Houston Press for 5 straight years. They feature the music of the British Invasion, including The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Paul Revere and The Raiders, and The Animals. “The Fab Five” are sponsored by Brenham National Bank, Seidel Schroeder, Dahmann and Associates, and Tippit Dental Group.
Closing out the concert series on Saturday, July 28th is “Texas Unlimited Band”. TUB keeps the crowd dancing and singing along with a mix of country, 80’s music, old school rock ‘n roll and today’s hits. Presently there are only two sponsors for “Texas Unlimited Band”, Woodson Lumber Company and Brenham Clinic. City of Brenham Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says she is still needing two more businesses to sponsor the closing night of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes.” Locke asks for any interested businesses to contact her at 979-337-7254 or email her at CLocke@cityofbrenham.org.
This summer will be the 14th season for Downtown Brenham to host “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” on the courthouse square. All of the concerts will begin at 7 o’clock every Saturday night in July.
