Another multi-million dollar meth seizure has been made by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on Interstate 10. Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Friday night Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Lobos, stopped a 2009 Freightliner on Interstate 10 for a traffic violation. Sgt. Thumann observed the driver was extremely nervous and way off route. The driver’s log book and shipping papers also displayed several indicators of criminal activity.

Consent to search the vehicle was given to Sgt. Thumann. He deployed his K9 Lobos to conduct an exterior sweep of the vehicle. Thumann observed Lobos alerted to the driver side fuel tank on the Freightliner. An aftermarket compartment was discovered built into the fuel tank. Inside the compartment approximately 60 kilos of methamphetamines with a street value of 5.9 million dollars were discovered. The driver Ramon Villa (59) of Houston was arrested for felony drug possession and taken to the Fayette County Jail.
