LOCAL ATHLETE CHOSEN FOR USA YOUTH TEAM

Brooke Bentke

A young Local athlete has been selected to play international volleyball this summer.

13-year old Brooke Bentke has been selected to play for USA Volleyball against international competition.

Brooke is participating in the USA High Performance A1 division, the highest level of programming available to athletes under 14.

Brooke was selected from a pool of athletes from across the country to participate in the USA High Performance A1 division.  The A1 National Team Program is the level available to athletes at this age with many of the athletes who compete ultimately going on to represent the United States on the U.S. National Team.

Brooke just completed 7th grade at Brenham Junior High.

The competition will be held in Tulsa this summer over ten days.  Participating athletes train and live together as a group for 5 days before competing at USA High Performance Championships against teams from Canada, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and Puerto Rico.

Along with playing for Brenham Junior High, Brooke plays club volleyball with Woodlands Revolution 13 Premier.

She is the daughter of Rachel and Matt Bentke.
