LOCAL CANDIDATES FORUM HAPPENING TONIGHT
The public is invited to attend a local candidates’ forum tonight (Wednesday) at Brenham National Bank.
KWHI will host the forum. It will feature six candidates for three political offices including:
Candidates for Washington County Commissioner Precinct One: Republican Don Koester and Democrat Louis Houser.
Candidates for County Commissioner Precinct Three: Democratic challenger Joanne Dougherty and incumbent Republican Kirk Hannath.
And the candidates for District 13 State Representative: Republican incumbent Leighton Schubert and Democrat challenger Cecil Webster.
The forum is set to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Question will be taken from the audience and from listeners on KWHI and kwhi.com. There will also be questions from the media.

Why would you hold the forum on the same night as the last Presidential Debate?
Very poor planning.
Mr. McMahon….the KWHI Candidate’s Forum is from 5:30 to no later than 7:00 p.m. The Presidential Debate begins at 8 p.m. local time. I think that gives everyone plenty of time to drive home from our event, should they choose to attend. Or, they can listen at home on KWHI 1280. The only poor planning on my part was forgetting that today is my wife’s birthday….
