LOCAL COUPLE DUE IN COURT OVER WACO VIOLENCE CHARGES

  

Two Brenham motorcyclists arrested after a violent shootout in May at a Waco restaurant in will appear in court next week.

Morgan and William English were among 170 people arrested after what authorities claim was a shootout between rival biker clubs.

The two are scheduled for a court appearance Monday before retired Judge James Morgan for an “examining trial.”

An examining trial is held to look into the truth of an accusation.

The Englishes are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity after violence erupted May 17 at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco.

Nine people were killed and 18 others were wounded.

William English has said the two were not involved in any of the violence.

English said they had just arrived at the restaurant when they “heard what sounded like gunfire.”
