LOCAL COURT SENTENCES DALLAS MAN TO 12 YEARS

  

A Dallas man is one of four people sentenced in 21st Judicial District Court this week.

33-year old Avery Lenell Burns pleaded guilty to four counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.  Two of the charges are First Degree Felonies while the other two are Second Degree Felonies.

Burns was sentenced to 12 years in prison on each of the four charges.

Burns was arrested by Washington County Sheriff’s deputies back in February of last year on three outstanding drug warrants.  He was also in possession of drugs at the time.

Burns was also wanted out of Dallas County for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Also sentenced in District Court this week:

43-year old Sally Ann Willis of Anderson, sentenced to three years in prison for and enhanced charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Willis was arrested in March of last year.

21-year old Patrick Michael Howley of Brenham, was placed on four years’ probation for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.  He was also fined $500 and ordered to perform 150 hours of Community Service.

And, 26-year old Robert Scott Polcyn of Spring was sentenced to one year in jail on each of two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also fine $1000.
