LOCAL SWIMMER QUALIFIES FOR WINTER NATIONALS
This past weekend Brenham High School swimmer Hudson Smith competed at the USA swimming Junior Nationals in Austin.
Smith competed in the 500 free, 200 IM, 400IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
He made the C finals in the 500 free with a lifetime best time of 4:31.34.
His top swim was in the 200 breaststroke which he placed 6th with a time of 2:00.73. That time qualifies him for the winter nationals.
Smith is a 2 time silver medalist in the 200 IM and gold medalist in the 100 breaststroke at the UIL State Meet.
Smith’s goal is to qualify for the USA Olympic trials meet held in Omaha,Nebraska in July.
