LOCAL WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT

A Brenham woman faces an assault charge after her arrest last (Monday) night.
Around 7:30 Monday night, Cpl. Steven Eilert was dispatched to the 700 block of Pleasant View in reference to an assault.
The victim said the suspect, identified as 22-year old Courtney Shanique Williams of Brenham, had attempted to run over her with her vehicle, and then got out and started hitting her.
The woman said she didn’t know Williams, nor why she tried to run over her with her vehicle.
Officers obtain a warrant for Williams’ arrest, and she was apprehended a short time later.
