LOCAL WOMAN RECEIVES CERTIFICATION AS A PARK AND REC PROFESSIONAL

  

City of Brenham Community Services Specialist, Crystal Locke has recently been certified as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) by the National Certification Board (NCB) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)IMG_1549C.Locke

Locke was recognized by the Brenham City Council at yesterday’s (Thursday) meeting and presented with a certificate.

Individuals certified as CPRPs meet high standards of education, expertise and experience established in the field for park and recreation professionals.

In order to be granted the CPRP certification, an individual must be employed in the recreation, park resource and leisure services professions and meet eligibility requirements. Requirements include a combination of higher education and/or work experience – and successful completion of the national CPRP examination. The exam tests knowledge in all aspects of general administration, programming and operations management for parks and recreation.

Locke has worked with the City of Brenham since 2008. Her CPRP certification will be valid for a two year period.
