LOCAL WOMAN SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS

  

A Brenham woman has been sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to Aggravated Robbery.

33-year old Michelle Garcia was arrested, this past Fourth of July after a disturbance with her mother.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Old Navasota Road where they say Garcia had robbed her mother at gunpoint.

Garcia was sentenced by District Court Judge Carson Campbell in this week’s session of 21^st District Court.

Also sentenced was 38-year old Elijah Holmes Jr. of Brenham for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

Holmes was sentenced by Judge Campbell to three years in prison after his arrest on August 31^st.

During a disturbance, Brenham Police found a rifle in Holmes’ vehicle.  Holmes is a convicted felon.

19-year old Zachary Dwayne Thomas was placed on nine years probation and fined $1000 for a 2011 charge of Sexual Assault.  Thomas was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, perform 150 hours of community service and abide by all sex offender conditions.  He must also spend 120 days in county jail.

And, 24-year old Paran Alexander Faraji of Houston was placed on five years probation for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He was also fined $1500 and ordered to perform 200 hours community service.
