MAN ARRESTED AFTER FLEEING AUTHORITIES IN FAYETTE COUNTY

A wanted man who fled from authorities Saturday in Fayette County was arrested after he went to jail to bond out his acquaintance.

25-year-old Cameron Brown, of Deer Park, and 24-year-old Melissa Casper, of Diboll, were pulled over Saturday morning on Highway 71 for a routine traffic stop.

Brown failed to identify himself and fled the scene on foot. Casper was arrested and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for Possession of False Identification.

Later Saturday, Brown arrived at the jail to bond Casper out.

The Communications Officer at the jail was aware of the incident that happened earlier and was able to identify Brown by the information he provided. It was later discovered that Brown had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation on a robbery charge out of Harris County.

Another Communications Officer alerted deputies that Brown and Casper were on their way to a local convenience store to cash a check.

Brown was arrested at the store.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Brown is charged with evading arrest and failure to identify as a fugitive.
