MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULTING BRENHAM POLICE OFFICER
(Washington Co. Jail)
A man is in custody in Brenham after his arrest for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Sunday morning, just before 4:00 a.m., Sgt. Steven Eilert responded to the 1500 block of Woodson Lane in reference to a disturbance.
At the scene, Eilert says 35-year old Aaron Joseph Nelson of Cloudcroft, approached him aggressively and then struck him with his forearm.
Nelson was taken into custody for Assault on a Public Servant and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The police in Brenham work hard to protect the citizens and we sure appreciate that. Lets remember to keep an eye out on them they need our help in return. If this gentleman really did what hes accused of then itll become apparent in court and I’m sure he wont be smiling anymore for a long time.
Looks like he is smiling for his mug shot, maybe our system of justice will wipe that smile off his face. We can’t allow people to go around assaulting our police officers and first responders.
