MAN ARRESTED IN FAYETTE CO. AFTER 5 HOUR SEARCH

  

A Palestine Texas man is in custody after a 5 hour search by Fayette County authorities.  The search employed a DPS helicopter and a Canine unit.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Krenke reports that Monday morning, a citizen reported a verbal argument between a couple parked on Haw Creek Road.  Deputy C.J. Lehmann responded and found a female with cuts on her legs.  She stated that her injuries were from kicking out the passenger window of her vehicle and that her boyfriend had fled on foot.  She was transported to an Austin hospital for treatment of her leg injuries.

After an extensive 5 hour search, two citizens called to report a man, fitting the description, walking on FM 954.  Deputies made the location and arrested 31 year old Keith Edward Stephens of Palestine.  He has been charged with Evading Arrest and Detention.
