MAN DIES IN FAYETTE COUNTY FIRE
A Fayette County man is dead after a grass fire got out of control Friday afternoon near LaGrange.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, deputies were called out to Golden Valley Rd. just west of LaGrange.
Authorities say burning trash got out of control and engulfed the man who was tending to it.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was airlifted by PHI helicopter to a San Antonio burn center where he later died.
The investigation into the fire continues.
