MAN LEADS POLICE ON SLOW-SPEED CHASE IN BRYAN
A Bryan man was arrested Friday after he allegedly robbed a man and led police on a slow-speed chase through the city.
Authorities say officers were called to a store at the corner of North Texas Avenue and Martin Luther King Street around 1:30 p.m.
The victim told police he was attacked while riding his bicycle. He said the suspect assaulted him, stole some of his belongings, and then sped off in a silver pick-up truck.
An officer located a similar pickup truck nearby and attempted a traffic stop. Police say although the truck maintained the speed limit, the driver refused to pull over.
Spikes were eventually deployed, deflating three of the truck’s tires.
36-year-old Kevin Dale Brown was taken into custody. He is charged with robbery and evading arrest in a vehicle.
