MAN SHOT BY BRYAN POLICE AFTER DISPLAYING THREATENING BEHAVIOR
A 33-year-old man is in the hospital in critical condition after Bryan police say he approached officers in a threatening manner and was shot.
Bryan authorities say a call came in around 10:15 p.m. Sunday reporting a disturbance in the 5300 block of Mallard Drive.
Bryan Police were speaking with a woman when the man approached them and made statements and movements that led a police officer to believe he was armed.
An officer shot the unidentified man and he was taken to a hospital where he remains. The officers and the woman were not hurt in the incident.
Bryan police have not yet confirmed whether or not the man had a weapon.
Authorities say the Texas Rangers are participating in the investigation into the shooting.
The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure for an officer-involved shooting.
