MAN WHO LED POLICE ON HIGH-SPEED CHASE IDENTIFIED

  

The man who led authorities on a high-speed chase across Brazos and Grimes Counties Tuesday evening has been identified.

Authorities say 30-year-old Justin Matthew Stewart, of Navasota, was arrested and faces a number of charges including: evading arrest, driving with an invalid license, reckless driving, and possession of a controlled substance.

The chase began when Stewart refused to pull over during a traffic stop in Brazos County. The chase proceeded on Highway 6 into Grimes County and into Navasota, before it headed back towards Brazos County.

The chase ended near the Grimes-Brazos county line. Authorities say Stewart ran away from his truck, but was later apprehended.
