MANSION BLAZE NEAR HEARNE UNDER INVESTIGATION
A federal agent from Houston has begun an investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed a multi-million dollar mansion in Robertson County.
The blaze broke out Sunday night south of Hearne.
The three story, 8000 sq. ft. Belle Oaks mansion once served as a bed and breakfast. Built in 2006, the home had 9 bedrooms, 11 baths, 3 fireplaces, an elevator and a swimming pool. It was on sale for $1.2 million dollars.
A federal ATF agent out of Houston wrapped crime scene tape near the home, but wouldn't say whether the fire is being investigated as an arson.
Authorities say the federal agent has yet to actually start the investigation because the area was still too hot to get into.
