U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul is following the party line when it comes to the President’s nomination of Merrick Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court.

McCaul released a statement Wednesday, saying he supported the Republicans in the Senate, “…to not confirm President Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court.”

McCaul went on to say, “The precedent has been set for decades, and was continued by Vice President Biden when he was in the Senate, that the Senate should not confirm a Supreme Court nomination in an election year.”

McCaul says, “The American people should have a voice in the direction of the court.  They will have the opportunity to be heard at the ballot box in November."
