McCOWAN HAS HUGE NIGHT AT MAGNOLIA

Teaira McCowan’s monster effort led the Brenham Cubettes to a 67-50 win at Magnolia, Wednesday night.

McCowan scorched the Lady Bulldogs for 40 points, 34 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

The night featured season-highs in points and rebounds for the 6’8” Brenham junior.

The Cubettes (25-3/13-1) also got 15 points and nine assists from Angel Darcus, while freshman Alicia Jackson added 10 points and seven rebounds.

The win pulls the Cubettes into a first-place tie with Montgomery for the 18/4A lead.  Montgomery was idle Wednesday night.

Next up for the Cubettes is Huntsville.  The game time at the Brenham gymnasium has been moved up a half-hour to 5:30.
