MISSING BOY FOUND SAFE IN SAM HOUSTON NATIONAL FOREST

Officials confirmed a missing 3-year-old boy has been found safe on Sunday afternoon in Sam Houston National Forest.

Missing boy "Ezra" found safe.

The boy, identified by authorities only by his first name, Ezra, went missing Saturday after wandering from his family's campsite.

Authorities say the child's family was camping in a remote area of the forest when he disappeared Saturday afternoon. The search continued Sunday with agencies from Walker and Montgomery counties and Texas game wardens. Tracking dogs also assisted in the hunt.

The Walker County Office of Emergency Management reports that Ezra, who was treated at the scene for minor injuries and dehydration, was found at approximately 2 p.m. Sunday about 400 yards from where his parents last reported seeing him

Rescue teams comprised of local, state and federal agencies combed the area on foot overnight with tracking dogs and the Texas Department of Public Safety, U.S. Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department searched from the sky with air support.
