MONDAY NIGHT STORMS CAUSES DAMAGE AROUND TOWN

  

High winds and thunderstorms overnight Monday night caused damage around town, including an awning at the KTEX/KWHI studios. More rain was expected in the area until around 9am.

A TORNADO WATCH is in effect for Brazos, Grimes, Houston, Leon, Madison, Milam, Robertson, Trinity, & Walker Counties until 9am. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for Milam, Robertson, and Leon Counties until 6am Tuesday. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Robertson & Leon Counties until Noon Tuesday. Thunderstorms -- some strong to severe -- are expected through Tuesday morning. Damaging winds & an isolated tornado threat will be the main concern. Heavy rain in excess of 1" - 3" cannot be ruled out.
