MONEY CONFISCATED IN FAYETTE CO. TRAFFIC STOP

  

Fayette County authorities have confiscated nearly $150,000 in cash following a traffic stop.

Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Fayette County Deputy David Smith conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Flatonia.

Smith says he observing indicators, of possible criminal activity, involving 47-year old Francisco Alanis-Valero, of Monterrey Mexico.

While searching the vehicle Smith located several bundles concealed in compartments within the vehicle. The bundles were found to contain approximately $147,000 in cash.

Alanis-Valero was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice center on a charge of Money Laundering.
