MONTGOMERY CO. JAIL INMATES DIE–FLU COULD HAVE BEEN FACTOR

Two inmates recently died in the Montgomery County Jail, from what authorities say was potential flu-related symptoms.

According to a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Mosheer Rashid and Carl Bible died after being transported to a hospital while in custody.

Captain A. Bryan Carlisle, says although both men suffered from numerous other medical issues, it is possible that the flu also played a role in their deaths.

Carlisle says during cold and flu season, the Jail takes extra precautions to insure sanitation of all inmate areas as well as enhanced medical screening and protection.

Sheriff Rand Henderson said his staff takes the health and safety of their inmates and employees very seriously, and as soon as any medical issues exceeds the ability of staff, they arrange for transportation to outside medical facilities.
