MOTORCYCLISTS FILE CIVIL RIGHT LAWSUIT AGAINST WACO P.D.

Three motorcyclists have filed a civil rights lawsuit after they were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity after a May 2015 shootout that involved bikers at a Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco.

Bryan attorney, Dan Jones said the suit was filed on Friday by Dallas attorney Don Tittle on behalf of Jimmy Dan Smith of Burleson County Benjamin Matcek of Brazos County, and Bradley Terwilliger of Bastrop County. The suit was filed against Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman, Waco Police Detective Manuel Chavez, and McLennan County District Attorney Abelino “Abel” Reyna and a DPS employee that is unnamed at this time.

The suit states that their civil rights were violated since they had no involvement in the violence nor prior knowledge that it would occur.
