MURAL ARTIST IN TOWN, SATURDAY

Anat Ronen

The muralist who will be painting the Alamo Street entrance mural over the next couple of weeks, will be in town on Saturday at the Christmas Stroll.

Anat Ronen will be “introducing” herself to the community by painting an 8’x 8’ panel.

Ronen’s designs are all original, and she doesn’t work with templates.  Her murals are painted using latex and brushes, and are done freehand.

Ronen also teaches street art and street painting at the Houston Art League and for private clients.

Ronen will be set up at the Baylor Street entrance to the Washington County Courthouse.

  1. Would be nice if those offended would step out of their comfort zone and embrace a little change in this town. All of our generations will be a part of this town’s history at some point and I dont see any harm in creating our own.

    1. Funny, I spend every work day outside in the Brazos Valley, and I never see any red bears, or diamond-eyed jaguars, or starry-owls. But I see cows, oak trees, and bluebonnets all day long. Sure they’re nice to look at, but all day, everyday? So sometimes I go downtown, just to see something different. Why you folks want to look at the same stuff, over and over and over again, is beside me, but I’m grateful somebody around here has a little imagination.

      1. Design is beautiful but are we PAINTING OVER. The mural at Alamo and Austin Parkway (currently Jims Wims)?
