NANCY CAROL ROBERTS LIBRARY TO CLOSE AS RENOVATIONS BEGIN

Wendy Ragonis, the City of Brenham’s Administrative Services Manager says the Nancy Carol Roberts Library will be closed to the public beginning at 7pm, next Thursday, April 17th.  They will re-open at city hall on Monday, May 12th.   The phone number will remain the same at 337 7201.  Library materials may be returned to the existing book drop at 100 Martin Luther King Parkway.

Ragonis says the library services will be at the city hall lobby for the next 12 to 18 months, so the city and its partner, the Fortnightly Club, can modernize the existing facility.  During this relocation period, library services such as computer access, weekly children’s programming and book access all will be at city hall.

Special events such as the opening and closing of the Summer Reading program will be at Fireman’s Park Kitchen.  Genealogy services will be offered through the Brenham Heritage Museum.  With a library card in good standing, patrons may access Tex Share databases and eBooks through the city’s website.

This library renovation has been in the planning stages for years.
