NAVASOTA ISD SEEKS INPUT IN SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH

The Navasota School District is looking for input from parents and guardians on their thoughts on a new district superintendent.

The Navasota school board has hired the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services to assist with the search for a new leader. The board wants the public to be involved in developing the qualifications and characteristics of the person who should be the next superintendent.

The district will host two public meetings, scheduled for Thursday. One will be at noon in the NISD Board Room at 705 E. Washington Ave. The second meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Navasota High School Library.

Former superintendent Rory Gesch turned in his resignation July 15th after he accepted an assistant superintendent position with the Alvin ISD.

The Navasota school board has appoint Ernest Ray Matthews interim superintendent.
