NAVASOTA MAN CHARGED WITH INTOXICATION MANSLAUGHTER

A Navasota man is charged with intoxication manslaughter after a fatal car accident November 15th.

Jason Sauls, 34, was driving a 2002 Ford Expedition westbound on State Highway 105 around 11 p.m. According to Navasota Police, the vehicle went off the road and overturned several times.

Chala Densey, 34, also of Navasota, was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. There were also four juveniles in the vehicle who were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Navasota Police Chief Justin Leeth said initial tests showed that Sauls’ blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was above the .08 percent legal limit. A warrant was served when Sauls was released from the hospital. He is charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second degree felony.
