NAVASOTA MAN SENTENCED TO 60 YEARS FOR ASSAULTING OFFICER

A Navasota man has been sentenced to more than 60 years in prison for assaulting two police officers back in 2016.
30-year old Adrian Bennett was arrested following a domestic disturbance back in September of 2016 on two counts each of Assault of a Public Servent.
Friday, Bennett was sentenced to 60 years in prison on each of the Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant with a Deadly Weapon charges.
According to Grimes County District Attorney's Office, Bennett must serve one half of the 60 year sentence before he will be eligible for parole. He was also sentenced to 10 years on an Assault Family Violence with prior Conviction charge and 2 years for Attempted Taking of a Weapon from a Peace Officer.
