A well-known Navasota woman is dead—murdered in her home early Monday morning.

Authorities say 40-year old Autumn Armstrong was killed sometime before 5:00 this (Monday) morning inside her home in the 300 block of Judson Ave.

Grimes County District Attorney Tuck McClain says no one has been arrested and no warrants have been filed.

McClain says Armstrong’s body has been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Dallas County.

McClain tells KBTX-TV 3 that he believes Armstrong was likely shot to death, but would not get into the specifics of her death.  He also says Armstrong’s husband Kelly and their young son were both at home at time of her death.

Armstrong was a 1992 graduate of Bryan High School. She worked as an escrow officer at Aggieland Title Company in Bryan.

McClain says Armstrong used to work in his private law office and described her as a “great person.”
