“NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS” HELPED MANY IN THE COMMUNITY

  

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce and Faith Mission with various health and mental health care providers held a Neighbors Helping Neighbors Stay Health Community Forum last night at the Cannery Kitchen from 4:30pm – 6:30 pm.

It was a festive evening filled as several people from Blue Bell, Valmont, Stan Pac, and MIC who met with health various provides while enjoying light refreshment, and enjoying door prizes.  The various agencies that  were in attendance last night providing information and referrals for employees with questions about health care and coverage, dealing with stress, and financial support.

Randy Wells of Faith Mission says that “the Neighbors Helping Neighbors represents the heart and the best of the people of Washington County.  We understand this is a marathon not a sprint and once the cameras and newspapers are gone, there are local people working and giving daily to support our displaced workers at this difficult time. “

Additionally Wells states, “the leadership of Page Michel and the support of the Faith Mission board and staff have been a source of strength, encouragement, and tangible help to people in need.”

Previous Neighbors Helping Neighbors initative have included Job Fair at Brenham High School, Neighbors Helping Neighbors Bank Account to Help Displaced Workers, and Faith Mission Assistance Center at 500 E. Academy where approximately twenty (20) people have received assistance ranging from counseling, financial, etc.
