NEW FIRE RESCUE TRUCK HAS ARRIVED

The new fire rescue truck has arrived in Brenham.

The truck was delivered from Pierce, Wisconsin, after this rescue truck and a pumper trucker were purchased earlier this year through a debt issuance.

Fire Chief Ricky Boeker says the new pumper truck had some transmission problems that are being repaired and should be here right after the beginning of the year.

The new trucks cost approximately $1.3-millon, which is part of $4.1-million bond issue for the new trucks, as well as land for a new fire station, construction of the new animal shelter and renovations to the Nancy Carol Roberts Library.
