NEW SEALY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO OFFER BILINGUAL LEARNING

Sealy I.S.D.’s new elementary school is scheduled to open this August with a new concept in language learning.

Sealy Elementary School, being built on FM 2187 on the northwest side of Sealy, will offer a program to teach students a second language.  Beginning at the kindergarten level, students can take a two-way dual language program where half the classes are English-speaking only, and the other half will only speak Spanish.  Sealy Superintendent Sheryl Moore says the classes will start together, with the goal being that they will be able to read, write and speak in two languages by third grade.  Moore says the program will also be offered on the Selman Elementary campus once it grows in popularity.
