NINE PEOPLE SENTENCED IN DISTRICT COURT

  

Nine people pled guilty to felony offences and were sentenced by Judge Reva Towslee Corbett in District Court this week.

Samuel Lee Salvato, 37 of Brenham, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Diondrick Deshawn Thomas, 25 of Brenham, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear.

James Clyde Anthony, 50 of Brenham was sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.  He also had his probation revoked for a 2014 Credit Card Abuse conviction and was sentenced to 12 months in state jail, a $500 fine and $80 restitution.

Ashley Lydia Cannon, 38 of Somerville had her probation revoked from two earlier convictions and was sentenced to 2 years in prison and an $1865 fine.

Justin Michael Doty, 27 of Brenham was sentenced to 154 days in the Washington County Jail for Burglary of Building.

Kyle Pomykal, 46 of Brenham was sentenced to 10 years probation for Driving while intoxicated with 3 of more convictions.  He was also ordered to spend 66 days in the Washington County Jail, perform 250 hours of community service, and have an interlock device installed on his vehicle.

Schrella Racquel Zavala, 48 of Brenham was sentenced to 5 years probation for theft of property less than $2500.  She was also ordered to pay a $1000 fine and perform 100 hours of community service.

Tommy Harrison Benson, 27 of Brenham was sentenced to 5 years deferred adjudication probation for Burglary of Building.  He was also ordered to pay a $1000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service.

Jessie Clifton, 35 of Brenham was sentenced to 5 years probation for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.  He was also ordered to pay a $1000 fine and spend 54 days in the Washington County Jail.

  1. Probationers pay probation fees and fines to the county. Prison time, it cost the taxpayer to feed and house them.. Dollars and cents. The law abiding taxpayers suffer either way.

  2. Most of those that received only probation will usually mess up and get arrested again thus resulting in prison terms. First offenders – probation. Then see what happens next…..
