NO CONTESTED RACES YET IN CITY COUNCIL, SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS

  

As of this (Thursday) morning, there are no contested races in the Brenham City Council and Brenham ISD school board races.  

With the filing deadline for both elections two weeks away, four people have filed for city council positions.

Longtime Brenham resident Susan Cantey has filed for Position Six-At Large seat. The position is currently held by Gloria Nix, who has said she will not file for reelection.

Ward-One Brenham City Councilman Keith Herring is running for reelection.

Former council member Charlie Pyle has filed for Position Five-At Large. The position is currently held by Mary Barnes-Tilley, who has not announced whether she will seek another term.

Andrew Ebel, the Ward Three incumbent, has filed for reelection.

While three seats are up for election on the Brenham school board, no candidates have filed yet. The seats up for election include: Position Five- currently held by Tommie Sullivan, Position Six- held by Natalie Lange, and Position Seven- held by Melvin Ehlert.

In other election news, Douglas Borchardt has filed for reelection to Position Two on the Blinn College board of trustees. Charles Moser has filed for election to the Position One-At Large seat on the Blinn Board.

In Burton, David Zajicek has filed for Burton mayor. Peggy Felder, the current mayor, has not said whether or not she will seek reelection.

Two other positions on the Burton City Council are up for election: Position One- currently held by Nelson Kalkhake, and Position Four- held by Samuel Patterson.

The filing deadline for the city and school board elections is February 17th.
