NORTH PARK BRIDGE REPAIR RESCHEDULED

  

Rain has apparently pushed back the repair work on the North Park Street bridge over Little Sandy Creek in Brenham.

The Texas Department of Transportation had planned to close North Park Street near Hohlt Park and make the bridge repairs today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). Rain that fell Friday night has pushed the project to next Wednesday through Friday, February 14 – 16. During that time North Park Street will be completely closed at the bridge, forcing drivers to detour using Blue Bell Road and the Highway 36 Loop. The Leadoff Classic Softball Tournament, hosted by the Brenham Cubettes, will be going on Thursday through Saturday, with teams and parents travelling between the Hohlt Park fields and Alumni Field at Brenham High School.

The North Park Street bridge over Little Sandy Creek was damaged during flooding in May of 2016 and during Hurricane Harvey, with areas beneath the bridge washed out.
