ONLY TWO LOCAL CONTESTED RACES IN MARCH PRIMARY

  

Only two contested local races will be on the ballot when Washington County voters head to the polls for the March first primaries.

Both contested races are on the Republican ballot.

Incumbent Precinct-one County Commissioner Zeb Heckmann faces a challenge from fellow Republican, Don Koester.  The winner will face Democrat Lewis Houser in the November general election.

Incumbent Precinct three County Commissioner Kirk Hannath is running unopposed in the Primary.  He will face Democrat challenger Joanne Doherty in November.

Precinct-four incumbent Constable Mark W. Kramer will face challenger Lee Auguston in the Republican Primary.  No Democrats have filed for the post.

Incumbent Constables in Precincts one and two, Ken Holle and Carroll “Butch” Faske are running unopposed in March and in November.

David Blakey Jr. is the lone candidate for Constable for Precinct three.

Also running unopposed in March and in November are: District Attorney Julie Renken, County Attorney Renee Mueller, Sheriff Otto Hanak, Tax Assessor-Collector Dot Borchgardt, District Judge Carson Campbell and District Judge Reva Towslee-Corbett.

Tuesday, Feburary 16th is the first day of early voting for the March first primary.
