OVER 4,000 CAST EARLY BALLOTS

Early Voting for Tuesday’s election ended on Friday, with over 4,000 ballots cast.

A total of 4,363 registered voters cast early ballots for the General Election.

Ballots cast by mail have until Election Day, to be returned to the County Clerk's office.  Ballots requested by mail must be mailed back to the Clerk's office.

There are three local contested races on the ballot:

County Commissioner, Precinct-2 pits incumbent Luther Hueske against challenger Margarette Boswell.

Precinct-2 Justice of the Peace Douglas Cone faces challenger Duane Olney.

And, Justice of the Peace for Precinct-1, Doug Zwiener takes on challenger Ophelia Whiting-Howard.

There are also several state-wide contests of interest, including the governor’s race between Greg Abbott and Wendy Davis; and the Lieutenant Governor’s race between Dan Patrick and Letitia Van de Putte.

Since Early Voting ended state-wide on Friday, voters wanting to cast ballots must now do so on Election Day at their polling place.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters who are unsure of their polling location should call the County Clerk's office.

There is also a list of polling places on the County's website on link to "find my polling place".

KWHI will have live coverage of the results, beginning Tuesday night at 7:00.
