PACKED HOUSE SHOWS SUPPORT FOR BLINN ADMINISTRATORS

  

The Blinn College Board of Trustees took no action on a Faculty Senate resolution of no support for two Blinn administrators, including President Dr. Harold Nolte.

The board heard from a great deal of supporters of Nolte and Vice President of Instruction, Cynthia Griffin at last (Monday) night’s overflow meeting—mostly faculty from the Brenham campus.

Nolte announced sweeping faculty and class changes two years ago that was met with strong criticism from mostly Blinn faculty and staff on the Bryan campus.

 

Months of criticism, lead to a special meeting last week where the faculty senate passed a 45-to-22 vote of "no confidence".

Faculty member Thaddeus Hill said the vote has no meaning or significance except negative publicity for the college.

The board of trustees went into executive session.

Board President Douglas Borchardt said the board will review the supporting documents presented along with the resolution, gather more information and plans to schedule a special meeting later this month for further discussion.
