Purser-Goeble verticleTwo Sealy women are in custody after their arrests on theft charges from the local WalMart.

Tuesday afternoon, Brenham Police officer Heather Sowders was called out to the WalMart to investigate a case of shoplifting.

The loss prevention officer informed Sowders that two women had left the store’s parking lot in a green four-door which they had loaded with stolen food and clothing.

The two, identified at 21-year old Katie Rae Purser and 23-year old Tiffany Mayree Goebel, were pulled over by Sgt. Kelvin Raven on Highway 36 South.

Police say the two were identified as the suspects by store surveillance footage.

Authorities say the two are each charged with Theft over $1500—a state jail felony.

  1. Its rather obvious that the two young women have a drug dependency. Treat the disease, not the symptoms, get them into rehab because they will just become a burden on the taxpayers by sending them to jail. How could two small women (one is very pregnant) have shoplifted $1500 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart? I have 4 filled baskets, and its a few hundred dollars at the register. Were they running out the door with a big screen TV?

  2. Let’s hope a plea bargin is not offered in this case, let them go to jail. Thieves like this make the costs of the things we all buy go up, it hurts us all. Come on DA’s office, you have an open and shut case, lock’em up and throw away the key.
