REQUEST FOR SOUTH MARKET REZONING WITHDRAWN

  

The rezoning request by business owner Ben Boettcher for addresses at 1600, 1608, and 1702 South Market was withdrawn on Tuesday by Boettcher.

Boettcher had requested on Monday during the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that that area be rezoned from a B-1 Residential Mixed Use to a B-2 Research and Technology District.

There had been several residents in the area that had voiced their opposition to the rezoning request.

The item will still be on the agenda for the Brenham City Council meeting on December 17th because Erik Smith, Development Services Manager for the City of Brenham mentioned at the meeting that there would be an opportunity for the public to voice their opinion. Smith will announce the rezoning request withdraw early in the meeting, and no public comment will be presented at that time.
