PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing about a zoning change request from the property owner of Redeemer Church during their meeting on Monday.cityhalllocation01

The property owner of the church, along with Sam Lawhon of All Seasons Landscape, is requesting a zoning change at 708 Rink Street in Brenham. They are asking Brenham to rezone a tract of land at the Rink Street address from “Single Family Residential” to “Commercial/Retail”. The purpose of the rezoning would allow for Lawhon to store machinery and raw materials at the location, with possible construction of a shop in the future.

The Commission will also review a request to approve a preliminary plat at the Sandy Pointe Subdivision, consisting of five residential lots. The request concerns five residential lots consisting of 1.031 acres of land, and a residential reserve consisting of 9 acres of land located on Pecan Street in Brenham.

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. at the second floor council chambers at City Hall in Brenham.

  1. I heard yesterday morning, at the donut shop, that there is someone wanting to build a dollar store at the entry of the Scenic Estates neighborhood. Please let us know when the public hearing is scheduled for this bad idea. I know my neighbors and I want to be at that meeting to voice our disapproval. Thank-you

    1. Thank you for posting, Retired Senior Citizen. I would also like to know more about the dollar store as it will greatly affect the traffic in our neighborhood, as well as our property values. If a meeting is held, I will definitely be in attendance to voice my displeasure if this is indeed true.
