POT BUST FOR HOUSTON MAN IN BRENHAM

  

A 19-year old Houston man was arrested for marijuana possession Thursday night during a traffic stop in Brenham.

Brenham police officer Jonathon Phipps stopped the car that Kevin Eduardo Vargas was driving near the Highway 290 west intersection with West Lubbock at about 9:40pm.   Officer Phipps could smell marijuana burning and asked the driver if he ever smoked marijuana.  Vargas said he smoked marijuana on the weekends.  That led to a probable cause search on Vargas’ car.  A small amount of marijuana was found and Vargas was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
