PPE HOLDS RIBBON CUTTING AT NEW FACILITY

Precision Polymer Engineering held a ribbon cutting this afternoon at their new manufacturing facility in the Brenham Business Park.  PPE is based in England, and this is their first US manufacturing facility.  They manufacture high performance molded elastomer seals.  Groundbreaking for the new facility was in April of last year and the first products were produced and shipped in November.

Plant General Manager John Guite explains what attracted the company to Brenham:

The new facility here is a virtual copy of their manufacturing plant in Blackburn England and features clean room manufacturing demanded by the semiconductor industry.  The Brenham location currently employs 18 people and there are plans to expand that work force over the next few years.

John Guite explains who their primary customers are:

The company began in 1975 and founder Peter Cummings was on hand Thursday to give some background on how it started.  A large contingent of company officials flew over from England for the ribbon cutting including Marc Uleman, President of the parent company, IDEX Sealing Solutions.
